Local attractions
Fernyrig Farm is ideally situated for golf, fishing, walking, bird-watching, cycling, horse riding and horse racing.  There are golf courses at the Hirsel in Coldstream,  Kelso and the Roxburgh is not far way.  There are also many other courses within easy reach.

In the first full week of August each year Coldstream presents its civic week.  There are many activities which are centred on daily horse ride-outs to local villages and places of interest.  There are many other attractions during the week including a fireworks display. fancy dress parade and art shows.

We are just a mile (1.6Km) North of the famous River tweed which is one of the best salmon rivers in Europe.   Fishing for Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout is very popular and many fisherman use Fernyrig Farm as a base for their sport.  We recommend "Tweed Guide" for your fishing services.

Fernyrig is situated on the "Coasts and Castles" cycle route so is ideal for cyclists.

Horse riding is available locally for riders of varying levels of experience.  Anne has her own horse and will be pleased to advise interested people of the facilities locally.

Kelso has a very friendly race course which is becoming more and more popular.

Kevin and Anne have been keen hill walkers and will happily provide details of a number of different walks available locally or not too far away in the Cheviot hills or on the coast to suit all tastes.

There are several stately homes in the area such at Floors Castle,  Manderston, Paxton House and Mellerstain and we are within easy reach of Norham Castle and Bamburgh Castle.
